This oil painting is of a cute little homestead just behind the St Francis Church in Ranchos de Taos. The viewer is looking southwest towards the distant peaks. It is a truly idyllic setting.
This oil painting is of the Taos Mountain as seen from Rancho de Taos. It is a loose, palette knife painting that captures the warmth of the trees and their color changes in late fall.
This little plein air oil painting painting was done on the edge of the Carson Forest, next to Questa, NM. It was the last day before a cold front was scheduled to move in bring much needed snow.
This painting was done by Abiquiu, NM by the Rio Chama. It is a plein air painting of the beautiful salt cedar bush. It is a terribly invasive plant that is choking lots of the river beds in New Mexico. But, I love the color and the texture that the plant produces!
This is a plein air painting done in the Sunshine Valley of an old hogan that had been used as a chicken coop! The chickens were long gone but I did find it a bit humorous how people can use structures for so many different purposes. Press link for purchase information.
This plein air landscape painting was done up in the Lama area, some 20 miles north of Taos, NM. My good friend has lived in this home her entire life. Her father built it over 60 years ago. It was one of the original homesteads in the area. I’m sure it’s been added onto over the years. It’s in a beautiful spot; set back against the trees.
This plein air painting was completed by Lama, New Mexico. It is some 17 miles north of Taos, close to an old burn scar. Every year the area turns yellow to red with the change of seasons. Red for the oak and yellow for the aspens.

This lonesome little road is north of the Wild Rivers Recreation Area. It is a quiet place where often the wind blows. The ground is pretty void of grass but the beautiful sagebrush is ever present.
